One of my best landings ever was in some of the worst weather imaginable. It was at night, in heavy rain, lightning, and in moderate turbulence. I did not use the autopilot because it would not likely handle all the turbulence and wind shear.
After being bounced around all the way down, I ‘squeaked’ the landing “on the numbers” so soft, even I was not certain we had touched down until the spoilers deployed.
There was a loud applause from the rear, and later quite a number of “thank yous” as the passenger deplaned. It was a landing I will never forget.
